I just read your comment on Mary Vance’s website and had to reread the study. It turns out that you are correct. The wording is misleading and I am so disappointed because I wanted to believe. I just purchased some CBD oil for my high cortisol levels. I can’t believe that people are quoting this study when it states the exact opposite. Thank you for pointing that out.

Anxiolytic effects of CBD in models of generalized anxiety have been linked to specific receptor mechanisms and brain regions. The midbrain dorsal periaqueductal gray (DPAG) is integral to anxiety, orchestrating autonomic and behavioral responses to threat , and DPAG stimulation in humans produces feelings of intense distress and dread . Microinjection of CBD into the DPAG produced anxiolytic effects in the EPM, VGC, and ETM that were partially mediated by activation of 5-HT1ARs but not by CB1Rs [65, 68]. The bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BNST) serves as a principal output structure of the amygdaloid complex to coordinate sustained fear responses, relevant to anxiety . Anxiolytic effects of CBD in the EPM and VCT occurred upon microinjection into the BNST, where they depended on 5-HT1AR activation , and also upon microinjection into the central nucleus of the amygdala . In the prelimbic cortex, which drives expression of fear responses via connections with the amygdala , CBD had more complex effects: in unstressed rats, CBD was anxiogenic in the EPM, partially via 5-HT1AR receptor activation; however, following acute restraint stress, CBD was anxiolytic . Finally, the anxiolytic effects of systemic CBD partially depended on GABAA receptor activation in the EPM model but not in the VCT model [61, 62].
At this moment you would believe that hemp CBD oil will make you high, which is a normal conclusion. However, even not the best CBD oil doesn’t have this side effect. The substance which makes you high is tetrahydrocannabinol or THC and it is present in marijuana. On the other hand, when properly extracted, CBD oil doesn’t contain this chemical, therefore its use won’t make you high. Regardless of the fact how many and how often you use CBD oil, the same effect will be provided, without the high issue.
This may be a good place to point out that not all CBD products are created equal. The industry is still largely unregulated, and the quality and quantity of CBD in a given product will vary wildly. According to the largest study to date, researchers reported that after treating 162 patients with an extract of 99% cannabidiol (CBD), for a 12 week period. the intervention reduced motor seizures at a rate similar to existing drugs ( a median of 36.5 percent) and 2% of patients became completely seizure free. Other studies have shown that it can act as an anticonvulsant.
