CBD and THC are the two main compounds in the marijuana plant and they are the only two cannabinoids that have been well characterized to date. Many strains of marijuana are known for having abundant levels of THC and high-CBD strains are less common; however, with the medical community paying more attention to the therapeutic effects of CBD, that is beginning to change.

CBD also blocked reconsolidation of aversive memories in rat [76]. Briefly, fear memories, when reactivated by re-exposure (retrieval), enter into a labile state in which the memory trace may either be reconsolidated or extinguished [97], and this process may be pharmacologically modulated to achieve reconsolidation blockade or extinction. When administered immediately following retrieval, CBD prevented freezing to the conditioned context upon further re-exposure, and no reinstatement or spontaneous recovery was observed over 3 weeks, consistent with reconsolidation blockade rather than extinction [76]. This effect depended on CB1R activation but not 5-HT1AR activation [76].
However, a standout amongst the most well-known approaches to expend cannabidiol is still through CBD oil. I always keep CBD oil around to take when I'm feeling in need of relief from my anxiety, rare bouts of insomnia, or even occasional back pain. I am acting caregiver for my wife who for the past 3 years has suffered from acute anxiety and depression which all started with a fall resulting in a broken hip. She has since then broken the other hip. At age 74 now the anxiety is detrimental to her recovery as she feels she can’t preform the smallest task. Recently a friend gave my 80 year old father a small bottle of 550 MG CBD Oil to help him with some chemo side effects. My father does not want it so he gave it to me as he knows I have restless legs at night with tiny little muscle spasms like little fireworks going off in both lower legs from the knee down when I lay down to go to sleep at night.
