I was in awe of CBD's potent effects, especially when I learned that the oil could be used to treat everyday ailments like anxiety, chronic pain, migraines, nausea, and inflammation in addition to serious issues like epilepsy, cancer, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's. With that, I threw caution to the wind and asked for a sample. Here's what happened when I took one full dropper of Charlotte's Web's Everyday Plus Hemp Oil in the mint chocolate flavor every morning for seven days.
In recent years, CBD has generated a tremendous amount of interest among consumers, clinicians, and scientists. Why? Not only does evidence suggest CBD counteracts many of THC’s adverse effects, but numerous animal studies and accumulating evidence from human experimental, clinical, and epidemiological studies suggest CBD has powerful anti-anxiety properties. Administered acutely (“as needed”), it appears safe, well-tolerated, and may be beneficial to treat a number of anxiety-related disorders, including:
Common treatments for fibromyalgia are anti-inflammatory medications, opioid pain medications, and corticosteroids. A 2011 study that focused on CBD treatment for fibromyalgia produced very promising results for future uses in treatment. Half of the 56 participants used Cannabidiol, while the other half used traditional methods to treat their condition. Those that used cannabis saw a great reduction in their symptoms and pain, while those using traditional methods didn’t see much of an improvement.
There has been a fair amount of confusion surrounding the legality of CBD oil. But while the vast majority of cannabinoids are controlled substances under the Misuse of Drugs Act, rest assured that CBD oil is legal across the UK for medicinal purposes, provided it has been derived from an industrial hemp strain that is EU-approved. These strains contain very little to no THC (the psychoactive cannabinoid).

In a series of placebo-controlled studies involving 15 healthy volunteers, Fusar-Poli et al. investigated the effects of CBD and THC on task-related blood-oxygen-level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging activation, specifically the go/no-go and fearful faces tasks [109, 110]. The go/no-go task measures response inhibition, and is associated with activation of medial prefrontal, dorsolateral prefrontal, and parietal areas [111]. Response activation is diminished in PTSD and other anxiety disorders, and increased activation predicts response to treatment [112]. CBD produced no changes in predicted areas (relative to placebo) but reduced activation in the left insula, superior temporal gyrus, and transverse temporal gyrus. The fearful faces task activates the amygdala, and other medial temporal areas involved in emotion processing, and heightened amygdala response activation has been reported in anxiety disorders, including GAD and PTSD [113, 114]. CBD attenuated blood-oxygen-level dependent activation in the left amygdala, and the anterior and posterior cingulate cortex in response to intensely fearful faces, and also reduced amplitude in skin conductance fluctuation, which was highly correlated with amygdala activation [109]. Dynamic causal modeling analysis in this data set further showed CBD reduced forward functional connectivity between the amygdala and anterior cingulate cortex [110].

Cannabis has shown to have positive effects on people suffering from epilepsy and multiple sclerosis. A research conducted in the University College of London, it is also effective in dealing with multiple other neurological conditions like the Dravet syndrome and Parkinson’s disease. It prevents neurodegeneration and cognitive decline, thereby helping those suffering from Alzheimer’s.
As more and more states legalize the use of marijuana, a product known as CBD oil has surged in popularity. A chemical compound found in the cannabis plant, CBD, or cannabidiol, is non-intoxicating and does not cause the noticeable euphoric effects associated with tetrahydrocannabinol (or THC, another marijuana compound). Products marketed as CBD oil may contain THC.
Everybody has different medical needs, because of this Medix CBD hemp oil tinctures are available in different dosages ranging from 100mg – 4,500mg per bottle. The reason for such a large difference in CBD concentrations between the lowest strength bottle and the highest strength bottle is because we offer a vast and wide selection of CBD hemp oil tinctures to meet the needs of people with different medical goals.

Nonetheless, when it comes to CBD oil and cannabidiol, people seem be getting more aware of the fact that you don’t need to be a pothead to get all the relaxing and hormone and metabolism-balancing properties of weed. Not that the image below is based on hard scientific epidemiological data, but a quick glance at a Google trends profile of searches for “CBD Oil” speaks volumes, doesn’t it?

I’ve been reading a lot about hemp vs. marijuana derived etc. but my major reasons for looking into this are a strong family history of Alzheimers/Parkinsons, depression, anxiety, learning disabilities and ADD with some members of the family having insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, and obesity. CBD oil has very little THC–isn’t that the chemical that is helpful w/ Alzheimers prevention? Is there a product w/ more–but not illegally more–THC? Thanks so much.

Finding the correct amount of CBD for you may take a bit of trial and error, especially if you try to do it on your own. Dosage recommendation should be given to you by your Doctor as that is what they are trained to do. Doctor’s base Cannabidiol dosages on the severity of the associated health problems and issues that they are looking to alleviate. That means, it strictly depends on your condition!  There is no specific amount of CBD oil that everybody should take.

CBD inhibited escape responses in the ETM and increased DPAG escape electrical threshold [68], both proposed models of panic attacks [95]. These effects partially depended on 5-HT1AR activation but were not affected by CB1R blockade. CBD was also panicolytic in the predator–prey model, which assesses explosive escape and defensive immobility in response to a boa constrictor snake, also partially via 5-HT1AR activation; however, more consistent with an anxiogenic effect, CBD was also noted to decrease time spent outside the burrow and increase defensive attention (not shown in Table Table1)1) [75, 86] . Finally, CBD, partially via CB1Rs, decreased defensive immobility and explosive escape caused by bicuculline-induced neuronal activation in the superior colliculus [89]. Anticompulsive effects of CBD were investigated in marble-burying behavior, conceptualized to model OCD [96]. Acute systemic CBD reduced marble-burying behavior for up to 7 days, with no attenuation in effect up to high (120 mg/kg) doses, and effect shown to depend on CB1Rs but not 5-HT1ARs [71, 74, 88].
Anxiety disorders are far more serious and can prevent you from maintaining a normal life. Some have said that anxiety is not a disease or illness, but rather a physiological, psychological-emotional state that occurs when we behave apprehensively. It turns into a disorder when the worry and the anxiety it creates interfere with your lifestyle. Ongoing anxiety can lead to numerous medical illnesses and even mental issues, if not dealt with.
The ugly truth is that the US National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the agency that oversees 85 percent of the world’s research on controlled substances, is on record stating that its institutional policy is to reject any and all medical marijuana research. “As the National Institute on Drug Abuse, our focus is primarily on the negative consequences of marijuana use,” a NIDA spokesperson told The New York Times in 2010. “We generally do not fund research focused on the potential beneficial medical effects of marijuana.”
There’s also been a lot of talk lately about “microdosing” CBD. This refers to an incremental process of finding your minimum effective dose. You can do this with any concentration of CBD oil, but lower concentrations will take longer. In a 2017 article in Rolling Stone, Dr. Dustan Sulak outlines his protocol for microdosing. You can begin this process by asking yourself three questions:
The article is inaccurate. CBD oil is not mutually exclusive from hemp oil, nor is all hemp made from industrial hemp. The hemp for NatureCBD is organically grown, and the word industrial, while having a negative connotation in this industry because of the fact it implies the oil is dirty, only means to classify that the hemp is grown for production (hemp fibers, basts etc). The oil in NatureCBD is indeed CBD oil, and always has a CBD content above 30%. The only thing that separates NatureCBD from being medical marijuana oil is the high CBD content and low THC content (below 0.01%).
I have great interest in CBD and appreciate all the information provided, but I have one basic question regarding the nano-particle comparison especially since Bio availability and the ‘potential dangers of crossing the BBB’ by some in a concern. Simply how can you refer to the CBD ad a nano particle when, for reference, a sheet of paper is about 100,000 nanometers thick. A strand of human DNA is 2.5 nanometers in diameter. There are 25,400,000 nanometers in one inch. A human hair is approximately 80,000- 100,000 nanometers wide. This said, anyone who does any basic search (or research) will find that Nanoparticles are particles between 1 and 100 nanometers in size. You can see my concern with your comparison to a human hair (1/100th the width) is not even close; A ‘large’ nano-particle (100nm) would still be 1/800th the width of the most ‘thin’ human hair. Could you please clarify for me? Thank you!
The endocannabinoid system is a newly discovered and complex biological system that’s not that well understood yet. What is understood is that the body has cannabinoid  receptors throughout the central nervous system, the organs and the brain. These receptors are known as the endocannabinoid system. When the body naturally releases endocannabinoid chemicals (or you ingest them through a tincture) they connect with the receptors and that stimulates the body’s natural ability to create serotonin, a natural mood stabilizer.

I wonder if you’ve every heard of someone who starts using the CBD oil and their anxiety and depression gets worse. This is what I’m experiencing now. I took Prozac for several years, but have been off of it for over 3 years. I was looking for a good alternative (the side effects of Prozac were unbearable). Maybe it’s a dosage issue. I have been using the drops, about 12 drops two times a day. This particular brand is 200 mg per dose (dose is 30-40 drops). I know you can’t give advice, but I just wondered if you have heard of this happening.
Every person with an anxiety disorder will need to consult with a qualified professional, evaluate their lifestyle, and undertake a personal journey to find healing and balance. For many, that includes treating their symptoms of anxiety with CBD. CBD oil has been shown in numerous studies to be effective in treating anxiety, and carries none of the side effects sometimes associated with antiÑanxiety (weight gain, insomnia, drowsiness and libidinal loss). If you’re looking for an accessible, safe, and natural alternative to psychopharmacological medications, you may wish to explore the benefits of CBD oil for anxiety.
One of the most popular and well-known uses of pure cannabis essential oil is to get relief from stress and anxiety, according to a report published in the Journal of Cannabis Therapeutics. The natural compounds found in this oil, including the famed THC, which is what gives cannabis the distinction of a drug in many countries, are very good for releasing pleasure hormones and relaxing the mind. It also helps in reducing stress and inducing a sense of calmness and relaxation.
The CBD oil industry is still groundbreaking, but that hasn’t stopped the creative innovators of marketing to pave the road as now there are several CBD oil concentrations to choose from.  This is why many buyers are confused by each brand claiming to have the best and the strongest oil on the market. With that said, in order to offer the strongest CBD oil on the market, we had to spike it with our own 99.5%+ pure CBD isolate so that we can reach an amazing 3,000mg CBD oil 1 oz tincture.
CBD Isolates/Concentrates: Anyone familiar with smoking hash or other cannabis concentrates like wax and BHO will be no stranger to this delivery method. Simply sprinkle some into a vaporizer or water pipe, ignite, inhale, and enjoy! We find that this option is useful for individuals looking to elevate their regular consumption of CBD-rich cannabis flowers or other smokable herbs.
One area where CBD is clearly helpful: the treatment of seizures associated with one form of epilepsy. A 2017 New England Journal of Medicine study found ingesting oral CBD dramatically cut down most patients’ seizure frequency—a finding that prompted the FDA to support the approval of one CBD drug for use in the treatment of some epilepsy patients.
I am glad that you explained how CBD oil can reel in the sympathetic branch of the nervous systeml[ reducing your anxiety and hysteria. My son works as a freelance photographer. After a decade in the field, you would think he will now have control over his nerves. But he tells me that his anxiety and overthinking still hits him hard from time to time during small or bigger gigs alike. I will be sure to advise him to try out CBD oil to help him cope better with his anxiety.

Anxiety is a disorder which will make you fear all the time but without a real reason. For example, you can fear from people in the open. Basically, you will feel scared and frightened all the time and regardless of what you do. Furthermore, you will also experience panic attacks and discomfort frequently. If you do then you suffer from anxiety and CBD hemp oil must be used in order to suppress the symptoms.

Hi Ben. What are your thoughts on the differences, if any, between CBD extracted from hemp (legal to buy for anyone in the US) and CBD extracted from medical cannabis? My instinct is that once extracted, they should be identical because we’re talking about a specific molecule (similar to how ascorbic acid extracted from an orange or bell pepper or made in a lab are identical). However, I had some CBD oil from a major retail website that did not do much for my insomnia, even at high doses. Then I tried some CBD oil from my medical marijuana doc that he claimed was pure CBD (meaning no THC, but I am not sure if there are other terpenes) and of higher quality because it was extracted from medical grade cannabis. I was totally skeptical, but ending up feeling it big time – very calming, almost like being high, but without the random racing thoughts that THC gives me. I am wondering if it’s worth it to shell out for my doc’s product (it is super expensive), or if I should just try another version of hemp-based CBD, such as the one you recommend.
Cannabidiol Oil, or CBD as it’s more commonly known, has recently moved to the forefront in the medical cannabis diaspora. It’s a rising star, boasting wide-ranging health benefits.Cannabidiol CBD is one of at least 85 known cannabinoids. These are compounds found in the cannabis plant. Unlike its infamous cousin THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), however, CBD has no psychoactive properties whatsoever.
This turn is due to a comprehensive 2015 study aimed at two notoriously difficult manifestations of epilepsy – Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome – most often encountered in children. Seizure frequency was found to decrease between 54 percent and 67 percent for the six months cannabidiol medication was used, although a small part of individuals did not continue after three months, as their condition did not improve.

Some studies have investigated the role of CBD in preventing cancer cell growth, but research is still in its early stages. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) says that CBD may help alleviate cancer symptoms and cancer treatment side effects. However, the NCI doesn’t fully endorse any form of cannabis as a cancer treatment. The action of CBD that’s promising for cancer treatment is its ability to moderate inflammation and change how cell reproduce. CBD has the effect of reducing the ability of some types of tumor cells to reproduce.

CBD oil contains CBD (and often other active compounds) in a carrier oil. There are a number of forms of CBD oil, including softgel capsules, tinctures, and under-the-tongue sprays. Some forms of CBD oil can also be applied directly to the skin, in the form of products like creams and salves. The concentration of CBD varies from product to product.

Hi Fred, thanks for your questions. I am not a doctor and this is not to be taken, interpreted or construed as medical advice. Please talk with a licensed medical professional about this. These are just my own personal thoughts and not a prescription or a diagnosis or any form of health care whatsoever. Here's a link to the kind we sell- you can order it online: BenGreenfieldFitness.com/cbd
Research indicates that CBD may be valuable in the treatment of cancer in a number of different ways. CBD as well as some of the other compounds found in cannabis have an antitumor effect and can amplify the death of tumor cells in both colon cancer and leukemia. In addition, investigations have shown that CBD can be used to stop the spread of cancer cells in cervical cancer cells. It is important to note that the vast majority of CBD and cancer studies are pre-clinical, meaning they’re not conducted on human or even mammalian test subjects, and the findings – while promising – should not be construed as conclusive proof that CBD can cure cancer.
Most CBD oils are available in round-number concentrations such as 250mg, 500mg, and 1,000mg. While these strengths accommodate many CBD users, they may not be sufficient for those with preferences that fall outside round numbers. NuLeaf Naturals offers a less conventional selection of concentrations: 240mg, 725mg, 1,450mg, 2,425mg, and 4,850mg. This range ensures that most users will find a strength that works for them.
It’s also important to select CBD oil products based on your concentration preferences. Some forms of CBD oil – such as vapors and tinctures – normally have higher-than-average concentrations, whereas sprays and topicals tend to have lower concentrations. Remember: higher concentration means more pronounced effects, but not necessarily mean higher quality.

I took Prozac for several years, but have been off of it for over 3 years. I was looking for a good alternative (the side effects of Prozac were unbearable). Maybe it’s a dosage issue. You should also know that the company from whom I purchased the "bad" CBD oil was completely unhelpful or caring about my reaction beyond denying thier product had any hand in causing it. They offered no refund and told me to just purchase another tube. So It is with a certain amount of trust and hope, that I leave my story here for you to read, or ignore.
I always keep CBD oil around to take when I'm feeling in need of relief from my anxiety, rare bouts of insomnia, or even occasional back pain. I haven't experienced any negative effects from taking CBD, and I definitely look forward to reading more research on its efficacy as it becomes available. I don't take it daily, maybe just a couple of times a week now, but I like knowing it's available should I need a boost (whether or not it's the placebo effect).

Stress is an important contributor to anxiety disorders, and traumatic stress exposure is essential to the development of PTSD. Systemically administered CBD reduced acute increases in heart rate and blood pressure induced by restraint stress, as well as the delayed (24 h) anxiogenic effects of stress in the EPM, partially by 5-HT1AR activation [67, 73]. However intra-BNST microinjection of CBD augmented stress-induced heart rate increase, also partially via 5-HT1AR activation [85]. In a subchronic study, CBD administered daily 1 h after predator stress (a proposed model of PTSD) reduced the long-lasting anxiogenic effects of chronic predator stress, partially via 5-HT1AR activation [77]. In a chronic study, systemic CBD prevented increased anxiety produced by chronic unpredictable stress, in addition to increasing hippocampal AEA; these anxiolytic effects depended upon CB1R activation and hippocampal neurogenesis, as demonstrated by genetic ablation techniques [81]. Prior stress also appears to modulate CBD’s anxiogenic effects: microinjection of CBD into the prelimbic cortex of unstressed animals was anxiogenic in the EPM but following restraint stress was found to be anxiolytic [87]. Likewise, systemic CBD was anxiolytic in the EPM following but not prior to stress [65].
More recent experiments, involving the administration of a part CBD part THC solution, have yielded results that contradict the first supposition. At present, on the evidence that cannabidiol reduces some of the psychoactive effects of tetrahydrocannabinol (acting as a de facto antidepressant), scientists argue that cannabidiol has a holistic but indirect influence on all cannabinoid receptors in the endocannabinoid system. The main consequence of this impact seems to be an increase in the production of endocannabinoids. This is now the prevailing idea that accounts for the mountains of empirical evidence of how the benefits of cannabidiol are expressed at the cellular level.

At present, we have the following classification of cannabinoids: endocannabinoids (produced naturally in the body, mainly from fatty acid precursors), phytocannabinoids (compounds that have a plant origin, with the cannabis plant being the best-studied source of phytocannabinoids though not the only one), and artificial cannabinoids (created while studying THC, to garner the benefits of marijuana without the recreational component).
Unfortunately, due to strict FDA laws, I am not legally able to say that CBD will help with your husbands specific condition, however I can direct you to some literature to help you better understand what CBD may offer. I have attached links below. As far as strength and dosage goes, tinctures and concentrates are absorbed the fastest since it goes directly into your blood stream; the dosage on these can be measured and controlled. Capsules take a little longer to enter your body since it goes through your digestive tract, these are also measured and controlled. I would recommend reading through our page on dosing as well to get a better understanding.https://cbdoilreview.org/cbd-cannabidiol/https://cbdoilreview.org/cbd-cannabidiol/cbd-dosage/I hope these help :)

Hi Lauren I've just started today with 250mg cbd oil. I'm starting low to see what happens. I've nerve damage across buttocks from a laminectomy. I've not been able to sit for 5 years. I've recently started with a muscle spasm in my left buttock and the muscle above is painful. It is only the first day, also tried a cbd night time tea as well. Do change in muscle pain so tight on my left hand side. How long before felt it starting to work please. I'm trying not to expect changes straightaway. I also take 1100mg gabapentin and 30mg amitriptyline and I hate both of them - they both can cause muscle tightness affecting the nerve. Thank you Lyn
Despite, its low potency, the effects of this product were faster. In about an hour, my back pain was relieved considerably enough for me to work around and do daily chores. Remember though, this product did not, even with regular use, bring down my back pain to a level that was to my absolute liking. However, it did help me a lot with my sleep terrors and anxiety.

Only recently, marijuana and chemically-related compounds have come back to being considered of therapeutic value. A prominent compound found in marijuana or cannabis, CBD, or cannabidiol, has been shown to treat numerous diseases. Researchers believe that in view of the very low toxicity and the generally benign side effects of CBD, neglecting or denying CBD benefits and its clinical potential is simply unacceptable.
The CBDistillery is another brand that cares deeply about their customers. And their concern shows in the CBD products they make. I tried the CBDistillery tinctures for anxiety with the same attitude I carry while using products from other brands – expectations set to a minimum. Thankfully, like many other brands I’ve reviewed here, this one did not disappoint as well.
CBD oil alleviates physical pain and anxiety – both of which can have a negative impact on sleep. Additionally, CBD oil can actually prolong sleep for some, leading to more rest from night to night. Most medical experts agree that marijuana is not particularly beneficial for individuals with medical conditions and/or mental health disorders, as the THC can increase their symptoms; this makes CBD oil a good alternative option for people with the following sleep disorders and medical conditions.
In the United States, over three million people suffer from epilepsy – 470,000 of those people are children. Epilepsy is a disorder of the brain that causes seizures – of which there are over thirty different kinds, ranging from mild and infrequent to life-threatening. Not surprisingly, people with epilepsy face significant challenges – from the cost of healthcare to work limitations and social isolation.
One of the worst causes of insomnia is a racing mind or anxious thoughts while trying to fall asleep. Since cannabidiol promotes positive mood through improved serotonin signaling as well as better dopamine levels, CBD for insomnia is undoubtedly one of the most effective ways to quickly get to sleep — and stay that way. You will also find the benefits of CBD carrying through the rest of the day, in terms of better mood.
Anxiety Disorder Association of America (ADAA) conducts research every year to find out the statistics increase or decrease. The studies conducted over a period of 10 years have revealed that 54 percent of the women while 46 percent of the men suffer from the anxiety disorders. But some studies also believe that the numbers of men who suffer from the anxiety issues are much higher than that of the women. It is just that they do not report their problem to the doctors or do not seek out for help until something significant problem occurs.
In studying over 4,600 test subjects, researchers found that current cannabis users had fasting insulin levels that were up to 16 percent lower than their non-using counterparts, higher levels of HDL cholesterol that protects against diabetes, and 17 percent lower levels of insulin resistance. Respondents who had used cannabis in their lifetime but were not current users showed similar but less pronounced associations, indicating that the protective effect of cannabis fades with time.[180]
I am in Santiago, Chile and have bought Cannabis oil here. It is my first time to try it. I am awaiting shipment from U.S. of CBD oil products. I am using the oil to ally my rather constant low level anxiety that sometimes goes near panic as well as chronic sleeplessness. I have been dealing with this challenge for many years without resorting to standard “Harmapheuticals”. It is my hope the oils will calm me and bring me sleep. I have been trying these local oils for past four days without too much in the way of calming effects. I am taking around 30ml of the oil without real positive results. Do you suppose I may have to go to dosage over 100ml a day to get results? I realize you can not give medical advice nor am I asking for it–but if you can give me general directions it would be very helpful. Thanks, Jack in Chile.

The results “suggest CBD to be a potential treatment for nicotine addiction,” the study authors wrote—but they also admit that their findings are preliminary. Ryan Vandrey, PhD, a cannabis researcher and associate professor of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University (who was not involved in the 2013 study), agrees that larger, longer-term studies are needed to know if CBD might be helpful for smokers looking to kick the habit.

I used a “cbd tincture 250mg”. After about 3 weeks I started passing blood and protein in urine. I stopped and it cleared up. A couple weeks later I decided to try again and within 3 days it happened again. Could this be due to the type of oil I used or might I have the same problem with any oil I try? It was helping my hip pain and crohns. Thanks!
"We still don't fully understand all of the mechanisms involved in CBD's actions," says Marcel Bonn-Miller, Ph.D, who studies CBD and its effects, primarily on PTSD. "We know some pieces but definitely not the whole story at this point. A lot of our understanding of the many potential benefits of CBD is rooted in work either on the cellular level or in preclinical models with rodents."
I am not a doctor and this is not to be taken, interpreted or construed as medical advice. Please talk with a licensed medical professional about this. These are just my own personal thoughts and not a prescription or a diagnosis or any form of health care whatsoever. HOWEVER, dosages of over 100mg have never been shown to be an issue, and I personally do 30-60mg per day (if you use the NatureCBD form you can take less because it's far more absorbable).

CBD Oil with THC – This type of oil isn’t legal in all states, and has a different effect than pure CBD oil. Many people take marijuana for the effects of THC, as it helps them to battle different medical conditions. They believe that the two combined provide an enhanced experience that exceeds the beneficial properties of taking one over the other (i.e. just taking THC or CBD by themselves). It is important to note that THC can counter the benefits of CBD, and therefore correct dosing is essential.
CBD oil affects your body through your endocannabinoid system, which is made up of cannabinoid receptors. These little protein receptors are specifically designed to respond to cannabinoids, whether those your own body produces or those you obtain from plants. You have these receptors all over your body, including your skin and even in your intestines!

May this letter find you and your loved ones happy and healthy for without you I would not be in such an improved state of physical health? It is not often I get to put pencil to paper for not only could I not concentrate due to opiate pharmaceuticals (couldn't express oneself due to lack of cognitive thinking) but the pain, inability to get comfortable due to lymphodemia and anxiety from stress (from lack of cash flow for food, bills, medicines plus the high expense of bandages & ointments) have prevented me from making contact but ....still after this prolonged period of time, I feel it necessary to write personally to mention just how dramatically you changed the world my two children and I live in. My sister Casey Lee Smith, arrived 6 months ago from the USA to run my household and it is through "Phoenix Tears" website she was able to make contact with you and learn all about the many wondrous benefits of medicinal Cannabis oil. When the treatment arrived, I was overwhelmed for I am a single Mother and your generosity brought tears to my eyes (even now it is hard to fight tears as I write) It has been rough to say the least. Feeling helpless, overly tired and frustrated by the lack of qualified physicians in my local town. I became depressed. My ex-husband felt he should prepare the kids for my untimely death. The location of my cancer spread throughout my left quadrant into my lymph and into the brain. I became bed ridden and lost hope. I will lose my house shortly but now i know it won't be my life. So, "THANK YOU" for the gracious gift and know you are loved! Sending love to you forever and always.
Because it provides the body with a calming effect, lemon balm is also used for nervous agitation, sleeping problems, functional gastrointestinal complaints, menstrual cramps and urinary spasms. It is thought that the volatile oils in lemon balm contain chemicals that relax muscles, particularly in the bladder, stomach, and uterus, thereby relieving cramps, gas, and nausea. Because of its calming effect without the potential to create the side effects of a sedative, lemon balm is also widely used to treat stress, anxiety and insomnia. This ability, along with lemon balm’s antiviral and anti-autoimmune characteristics have also made it useful for the treatment of thyroid issues chronic fatigue syndrome.
Grant says this may lead to a “dampening” or mellowing of some neurochemical processes, including those linked to pain. “CBD may also react with other receptors, like those for serotonin, and it may have actions that reduce the inflammatory molecules produced whenever there is tissue damage or bacteria coming in,” he says. “But we really don’t know the mechanisms.”
What about the correct CBD oil dosage for anxiety? The actual dosage amount will depend on the size of your dog and the product potency. Most manufacturers will give you guidelines of one or two tiny doses a day. The recommended doses are small drops, as in .05 mg/pound. Which means if you have a dog under 25 pounds, a 600 mg bottle can last you nearly two months because you’re only giving them little more than a mg a dose. The best way to determine exact dosage is by following the manufacturers directions.

Cannabidiol has been shown to halt prions, the proteins that cause neurodegenerative diseases like Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and mad cow. The formation and accumulation of prions were prevented with the aide of Cannabidiol during a study published in the Journal of Neuroscience in 2007. For mice that were infected, CBD increased their survival time by about a week.
2.)   Here is a direct statement from a study published by the New England Journal of Medicine that involved 120 children from different parts of the world.  The conclusion states, “Among patients with the Dravet syndrome, cannabidiol resulted in a greater reduction in convulsive-seizure frequency than placebo and was associated with higher rates of adverse events”  View Source

As one might expect from the information presented in the previous sections of this article, the position of cannabidiol (both from a medical and from an institutional point of view) is one of uncertainty. To add insult to injury, private companies (especially those targeting immediate profit with a minimum of investment) take advantage of the loopholes in legislation to gain from the media exposure that CBD has had in the past few years.
Due to the anti-inflammatory properties of cannabidiol, insulin resistance (the chief metabolic problem for patients with type 2 diabetes) is reduced, leading to a better prognosis thanks also to the lower incidence of dead tissue. Ever since the discovery of CBD in the 1990’s, speculation existed to its effect on other types of receptors (not just cannabinoid receptors) which could be manipulated and included in the treatment of some cardiovascular diseases like atherosclerosis. In light of these speculations, researchers at the University of Tel Aviv (walking in the footsteps of the “father” of cannabinoid research, Dr. Raphael Mechoulam) demonstrated a 30 percent blood flow increase in rodents with areas of dead tissue in the heart muscle.[22]
Answering the question “what is CBD oil” would be incomplete without mentioning the many CBD oil benefits. In addition to positively affecting the endocannabinoid system, CBD has been the focus of more than 23,000 published studies about cannabinoids in relation to various medical indications including anxiety, epilepsy, inflammation, cancer and chronic pain to name few. CBD oil stands for cannabidiol or better known as Hemp oil. Yes, this oil comes from the cannabis plant, therefore the name. Its secret is in the chemicals known as cannabinoids. There are a lot of them and it is known that they have the ability to react with certain brain receptors and other ones located through the body. CBDs popularity has grown in recent years as it offers a calming and soothing effect on users with few or no side effects.

This may be a good place to point out that not all CBD products are created equal. The industry is still largely unregulated, and the quality and quantity of CBD in a given product will vary wildly. Third party testing definitely helps to monitor companies’ claims, but it’s still up to you as the consumer to do your homework on the best CBD products.
My husband is 52 and has brain atrophy. There is no history of Dementia in his family and they haven’t found anything else wrong with him. Trying to save his life but Ativan is the only thing that works to keep him semi-calm so he can be in a facility that can care for him 24/7. What CBD oil, if any, do you recommend and how much should he take with the Ativan at first to eventually be able to get him off that awful medication?
Preclinical evidence conclusively demonstrates CBD’s efficacy in reducing anxiety behaviors relevant to multiple disorders, including PTSD, GAD, PD, OCD, and SAD, with a notable lack of anxiogenic effects. CBD’s anxiolytic actions appear to depend upon CB1Rs and 5-HT1ARs in several brain regions; however, investigation of additional receptor actions may reveal further mechanisms. Human experimental findings support preclinical findings, and also suggest a lack of anxiogenic effects, minimal sedative effects, and an excellent safety profile. Current preclinical and human findings mostly involve acute CBD dosing in healthy subjects, so further studies are required to establish whether chronic dosing of CBD has similar effects in relevant clinical populations. Overall, this review emphasizes the potential value and need for further study of CBD in the treatment of anxiety disorders.
If you have dealt with anxiety before, you are not alone. As the author of a 2015 article published in the Dialogues in Clinical Neuroscience says: "Anxiety disorders...are the most prevalent mental disorders and are associated with immense health care costs and a high burden of disease." Yet many are finding that pharmaceuticals won't do, especially for chronic use, and they are turning increasingly to supplements and cannabidiol (CBD) oil for anxiety. [1]
Because it does not produce psychoactive effects and hemp is not a controlled substance, hemp-based products are legal to sell, buy, and possess in all 50 states. However, the law is a bit more complex when discussing CBD oils and other hemp byproducts. According to the 2014 Farm Bill, hemp should only be grown and cultivated for academic research purposes. This means that, technically, any hemp-derived oil that is not grown for these purposes would be illegal — though this law is rarely enforced. To make matters more complex, the laws are somewhat unclear in certain states. Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky recently introduced legislation that would legalize all hemp products at the federal level, but this decision is still pending.
