Anyways, now we’re about to get to the good stuff, specifically things that I figured health-minded readers like you would actually find helpful, such as hormone balancing, de-stressing, enhanced sleep, fat loss, etc. But if you want to simply stop reading now, and take a side-track to go peruse the more than 20,000 articles published in peer reviewed journals that show the medical efficacy of CBD for a variety of other conditions in addition to what I’ve listed here, then knock yourself out.

Charlotte’s Web is the name of a premium CBD oil company, and the high-CBD strain of hemp from which their products are derived. The brothers who own and operate the company named it after Charlotte Figi, born in October 2006, who made an almost miraculous recovery from a rare and debilitating seizure disorder by using their CBD oil, and inspired them to found the business. Today, the Colorado-based company provides steeply discounted CBD oil to children with seizures and related disorders. Charlotte’s Web’s line of commercial CBD tinctures, capsules and topicals use the same proprietary strain of source hemp, but are formulated to address common issues like inflammation, fatigue, and anxiety. All are made from hemp grown organically and sustainable in Colorado, and subjected to broad-spectrum extraction, which maximizes the Entourage Effect (the capacity of hemp compounds to enhance the therapeutic effects of CBD) by preserving a range of beneficial plant compounds. Their CBD tincture is an excellent choice for treating anxiety, and comes in chocolate or chocolate mint flavors which can be taken directly or added to beverages. This CBD tincture is available in strengths of 10 or 25 mg per ounce, or a more concentrated 50 mg per 0.6 ounce. This oral supplement comes in natural or chocolate mint flavors. Charlotte’s Web’s CBD oil capsules contain the same full-spectrum CBD extracts, and come in concentrations of 15 mg each or 35 mg.
"A CBD company may create a CBD oil, test it, and use the test results to create their label," Bonn-Miller says. "The problem is if they never test their product again, or they test it once a year, you have no idea whether each batch is the same as the first one that they used to create the label. The vast majority of companies are not using manufacturing standards that assure product consistency over time. Companies should be testing every batch they make and tossing batches that don't fall within the specs of their label."
I am having some major issues with major anxiety and major depression that seems to be treatment resistant. I am currently on 75mg of Zoloft, 12.5mg of Seroquel for sleep, 5 to 10 mg of Valium a day and several vitamins as well. I have tried a number of different anti depressants. Nothing seems to be helping much. Out of desperation I have been exploring other options. My question is can I use the oil with all these other meds. Clearly I can’t just stop them but am hoping if I could get the anxiety and depression under control then I could wear off the pharma meds. If you can’t answer this question could you direct me to someone who could. Thanks!!’
Please note, I am not an addict and have a several genotypes with specific alleles that prevent the the high but get all the benefits from pain relief. Cool for me, but the “Dr.s” want to keep sticking me will steriods. My autoimmune system is now completely compromised from all the steroids. My other pain I can deal with (just barely now) but the RLS/RAS is literally driving me insane.
The images from the streets of Paris over the past weeks are stark and poignant: thousands of angry protesters, largely representing the struggling French working class, resorting to mass civil unrest to express fear and frustration over a proposed new gas tax. For the moment, the protests have been successful. French President Emmanuel Macron backed off the new tax proposal, at least for six months. The popular uprising won, seemingly at the expense of the global fight against climate change and the future wellbeing of our planet.
Later in 2014, researchers reported on preliminary results of a study involving children with treatment-resistant epilepsies in an expanded access “compassionate use program.” Patients received a purified 98 percent oil-based CBD extract called Epidiolex, which is made by GW Pharmaceuticals. After 3 months of treatment, 39 percent of the 23 patients had more than a 50 percent reduction in seizures, with a 32 percent median reduction. These preliminary results support the animal studies and survey reports that CBD may be a promising treatment for treatment-resistant epilepsy and it is generally well-tolerated in doses up to 25 milligrams per kilogram of body weight. My name is Dean Roland From Hoston ,Texas and have bought Cannabis oil Fom this Godsent man name Rick simpson. It is my first time to try it. I am awaiting shipment from Italy Rome of CBD oil products. I am using the oil to ally my rather constant low level anxiety that sometimes goes near panic as well as chronic sleeplessness. I have been dealing with this challenge for many years without resorting to standard “Harmapheuticals”. It is my hope the oils will calm me and bring me sleep. I have been trying these local oils for past four days without too much in the way of calming effects. I am taking around 30ml of the oil without real positive results. Do you suppose I may have to go to dosage over 100ml a day to get results? And if you are willing to get your cure kindly contact the specialist store:whatsapp +2348114802736.
1.) A Qualitative Analysis of Online Forum Discussions on Cannabis Use and ADHD conducted by Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Duke University Medical Center: The results are as followed… “Twenty-five (25%) percent of individual posts indicated that cannabis is therapeutic for ADHD, as opposed to 8% that it is harmful, 5% that it is both therapeutic and harmful, and 2% that it has no effect on ADHD.” This was the first type of study done of its kind. Along with its better-known counterpart, THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the chemical that produces the marijuana high), CBD is one of more than 400 compounds found in the oils of cannabis plant species, which include marijuana and hemp. Unlike THC, CBD will not make you high. That said, this doesn’t mean CBD is not at all psychoactive, as many assert, says Jahan Marcu, Ph.D., director of experimental pharmacology and behavior at the International Research Center on Cannabis and Mental Health in New York City: “CBD does change cognition. It affects mood, which is why people take it for anxiety. And some find that it makes them more alert.”
Considering the complete non-addictiveness and safety of cannabis, Dr. James Hudson, PhD, Professor Emeritus, University of British Columbia Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine, has said that pharmaceutical companies have an enormous incentive to chemically recreate the natural compounds in marijuana and somehow sell a drug from it. You probably already know this, but pharmaceutical companies can’t patent a natural compound, but if they can make a synthetic compound that mimics ingredient from cannabis, they can formulate that as a drug and potentially make a lot more money off of it.
In fact, numerous studies have looked at the relationship between CBD and pain, and the results are promising. Researchers have looked at various kinds of pain – from joint pain to cancer pain. One finding is that CBD increases levels of glutamate and serotonin – both neurotransmitters that play a role in pain regulation. And CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties help by tackling the root cause of much chronic pain.
CBD shatter is CBD isolate (which have already discussed above) but in the form of isolated crystals and with terpenes added. Like CBD isolate, it is the purest form of cannabidiol, or CBD, that you can get — it just has some extras added to give it the flavor and strain profile of some other types. In other words, to make CBD shatter, we’ve infused CBD isolate with terpenes.

Heart disease is a growing problem today. In fact, it’s the leading cause of death in the U.S. A healthy diet and lifestyle is a top priority for heart health, but CBD oil can also help. According to research cannabidiol reduces artery blockage, reduces stress induced cardiovascular response, and can reduce blood pressure. It may also reduce cholesterol.
During the summer I changed my licenced provider to one who offers an exceptional, high-CBD strain they call Avidekal. Taking this can noticably improve my mental state to the point that I have experimented not taking it at all for a week, whereupon the loss of homeostasis begins to occur with more frequency. This month I made a butter from it so I can easily consume it every day before work without having to vaporize.
While the science behind CBD oil assuaged many of my concerns, Charlotte Figi's inspiring story was the kicker. Figi, a 6-year-old girl diagnosed with a rare and resistant form of epilepsy known as Dravet syndrome, was actually placed on hospice care and given a "do not resuscitate" order when her parents, desperate and frustrated with pharmaceutical medication, considered medical marijuana. Charlotte is now 99% seizure-free since she began supplementing with Charlotte Web's CBD oil, which the brand named after Figi.

Fill the dropper with the CBD oil, place the tip of the dropper under the tongue and drip in the desired amount. Let the CBD oil get adsorbed for 1-5 minutes before swallowing it. If you are having a hard time with the dosage or the number of drops when you drip it under your tongue, you can also use a spoon. Just put the desired amount of CBD oil on the spoon and try to put it under the tongue. Just lick off the remaining oil on the spoon. Due to the fine blood vessels and mucous membranes in the mouth, the CBD quickly enters the bloodstream and therefore has a good bioavailability.
Side effects of CBD include somnolence, decreased appetite, diarrhea, fatigue, malaise, weakness, sleeping problems, and others. It does not have intoxicating effects like those caused by THC, and may have an opposing effect on disordered thinking and anxiety produced by THC. CBD has been found to interact with a variety of different biological targets, including cannabinoid receptors and other neurotransmitter receptors. The mechanism of action of CBD in terms of its psychoactive and therapeutic effects is not fully clear.
Cachexia is a disorder involving dangerous weight loss brought on by diseases as diverse as AIDS, cancer or Alzheimer’s. A 2011 German study involving more than 100 people proved that patients on the placebo lost about 80 percent more weight weekly than those administered a cannabinoid cocktail. This, along with the mood-elevating properties of cannabidiol implies future applications for the treatment of widespread eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa.
Receptors for cannabinoids are found in the digestive, reproductive, nervous, and immune systems. Because cannabinoids interact with almost every system in our bodies, they’re often touted as a cure-all. While they’re not truly able to heal everything, they do regulate neurotransmitter function, inflammation, mitochondrial function, and metabolism.
I love remedies that have many uses (like emu oil), and cannabidiol oil (or CBD or hemp oil) is gaining popularity for this reason. This oil extracted from the hemp plant has come under a lot of legal and moral questions. Opinions may differ but what can’t be ignored is the incredible healing power CBD oil seems to possess and how versatile it is as a supplement and natural remedy.
CBD oil isn’t legal everywhere. In the United States, some states allow it for only specific medical purposes and some don’t. You may need to get a license from your doctor to be able to use CBD. If cannabis is approved for medical use in your state, you may be able to purchase CBD oil online or in special cannabis stores or clinics. As research on CBD continues, more states may consider the legalization of cannabis products.
Cannabidiol can be taken into the body in multiple different ways, including by inhalation of cannabis smoke or vapor, as an aerosol spray into the cheek, and by mouth. It may be supplied as an oil containing only CBD as the active ingredient (no added THC or terpenes), a full-plant CBD-dominant hemp extract oil, capsules, dried cannabis, or as a prescription liquid solution.
According to Mayo Clinic, CBD dosage should depend on traditional use, expert opinion, scientific research, and publications (source.) Essentially, CBD oil dosages, as well as consumption intervals, should be based on the daily recommend dosages found on your CBD product labels. If the company you are buying from doesn’t offer you dose information on their website or on their product label, DO NOT BUY and REPORT them.
After months of visiting doctors and sitting through tests like a human lab rat, it was determined that there was a slight anomaly in the anatomy of my temporal lobe—the part of the brain that controls hearing, speech, and auditory comprehension—which explains why every time I have a seizure, I suddenly don’t understand the English language. Epilepsy can’t be cured, so the only course of action available for me was to take a medication every day for the rest of my life. My neurologist prescribed a few different anti-convulsant medications, but they all made me feel tired, depressed, slow, and unlike myself—until finally, I found one that was slightly better than the rest.
Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health concern in the United States. An estimated 30 percent of adults in the United States (that's 66 million people) and an estimated 25 percent of teenagers and preteens are affected by anxiety. As a functional medicine practitioner, I see many people who struggle with anxiety and panic attacks, and from these statistics, it should be no surprise. But just because something is common doesn't make it normal. Fortunately, new insights into the cause of anxiety may help with the development of more effective treatment options.
Here’s the thing, though—CBD oil isn’t just helpful for people with epilepsy. Turns out the oil is highly anti-inflammatory, and according to a 2013 review published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology it’s also beneficial for treating anxiety, depression, neurodegenerative disorders like dementia, and even has anti-tumoral properties. Sounds like the ultimate superfood, right? I decided to give this magic oil a whirl and see if I noticed a difference in my mood, anxiety, and stress levels.
See, hemp fields are simply fields of cannabis plants that grow under conditions in which the male plants have been allowed to fertilize the female plants. When you separate the male and female plants, the females can’t be pollinated, so they produce lots of THC (in what is known as “resinous THC form”) as a result. But when the female is allowed to be pollinated, she barely produces any THC. In fact, the happily sexed up female produces less than 1% THC.
I am acting caregiver for my wife who for the past 3 years has suffered from acute anxiety and depression which all started with a fall resulting in a broken hip. She has since then broken the other hip. At age 74 now the anxiety is detrimental to her recovery as she feels she can’t preform the smallest task. I appreciate your site I just finished reading as I am trying to educate myself on this approach to help to regain her self confidence. Thanks for your time snd efforts are help people like us. John
I found your article to be very informative. My son has refractory Epilepsy and Type 1 Diabetes. I am very interested in CBD but I am concerned about how it will interact with the 3 AED’s he is currently taking as well as how it will affect his blood glucose levels as he is on an insulin pump. Do you know of anyone with a similar combination of issues? How they have handled introducing CBD to their regime? And if they are seeing positive results?
Here’s another interesting fact for you: CBD has really strong anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, due primarily to its effects on your adenosine receptors and cytochrome P-450 and 2C enzymes. When this was first discovered, the US government insisted that cannabis had no medical benefits, but at the same time, they took out patent 6,630,507, which gave them rights to the antioxidant properties of cannabis (which they ironically still claim don’t exist). Incidentally, that patent was not extended to actual oil or capsule extracts of cannabis, so the good ol’ US gummint missed out on some pretty good business opportunities, if you ask me.
