I wanted to tell people here that CBD has been very effective for my anxiety, and helps with insomnia. For me, it was a cumulative effect, after a week of one dropper of oil, I can sleep very well at night. I feel like I am not polluting my body with commercial pharmaceuticals. I wish everyone here the best, and hope it works for you as well as it has for me.

Like Elixinol, CBD Essence has been around for quite a few years and they definitely know a thing or two about hemp oil. The owner Don has actually been around the pharmaceutical industry for some years, and therefore knows how to deliver a quality and effective product. All of their oils are created using CO2 extraction methods, which have been known to be safer and more effective than solvent-based extraction. They avoid CBD isolates, and they always disclose lab test results to ensure there are no heavy metals or contaminants in the oil.

(FYI, if you're concerned about whether or not Charlotte's Web is legal, their PR kindly sent me this statement: "Regarding legality, CW Hemp is compliant with U.S. law regarding the manufacture and sale of dietary or food supplements. Our products meet the EU standard of less than 0.2% THC to be regarded as hemp and we market our products as a food supplement and adhere to those labeling laws." Phew.)

Hello. I suffer from GAD, Panic Disorder, and mood disorder. For about a year now I have been contemplating on taking my medication. Number one reason I DO NOT want to take my medication is due to the side effects. I have been prescribed Paxil (which I hear a lot of good stuff about it but also bad) I read the side effect and warning side effects that I should be aware of. One of them was that it might make me feel WORSE AND HAVE SUICIDAL THOUGHTS! Now that to be is beyond scary! I already feel like crap And taking a medication that’s suppose to help me can possibly make me feel worse? That to me sounds scary! So I’ve been researching a lot on CBD oil. All the good benefits and how it has helped many suffering from anxiety and depression. Then I come across this blog that talks about how it works just as an SSRI! That’s amazing. I would rather much try something that is organic made from Mother Nature than Some man made medication. Finally, my husband went out bought me the CBD oil capsules to try out first. Those did not settle well in my stomach ,so I tried vaping. Now let me tell you, I think it was the best thing ever. After 20 min I started calming down, I no longer felt hopeless and I actually felt like eating. Today I am on day 3 of vaping the cbd oil. I woke up feeling good. No head ache today, and I feel calm. It has not yet got me to the 100% where I want to be at but it’s better than nothing. I’m hoping this could help me through my hard time and I won’t have to take my medication. The good thing about CBD oil that is non-psychoactive therefore, you will not get high off of this. They take out the THC part (the part that gets you high) leaving you with CBD which gives you all the benefits.

Donald Abrams was a member of the committee that reviewed the evidence that went into producing the report, and he said that the studies they reviewed overwhelmingly used pharmaceutically available preparations that contain THC, including dronabinol, nabilone and the whole-plant extract spray nabiximols, which contains equal parts CBD and THC. It’s impossible to know whether the benefits of cannabis can also be obtained from CBD alone, Abrams said, because CBD is just one of 400 chemicals present in the plant. So far, CBD in isolation has been studied in only a handful of randomized, placebo-controlled trials (considered the gold standard of evidence in medical research), and the evidence remains sparse.
The buzz around CBD continues to grow as hemp deregulation spreads across the country. Stories of CBD healing a bedridden child or an autistic individual has inspired hope in those parents looking for an alternative remedy. Yet, ironically, when you try to actually look up the benefits of this chemical, it’s quite impossible to find. It seems like a lot of people are writing about how promising it is. But everyone is tiptoeing around the actual question. What does it actually do for you?

The human body also produces cannabinoids, known as endocannabinoids, in a bodily system known as the endocannabinoid system (or ECS). The ECS promotes homeostasis by regulating a wide range of functions, including motor skills, mood, appetite, and sleep. As we age, our ECS produces fewer endocannabinoids; they may also decrease due to physical injury or disease. Replenishing depleted endocannabinoids with phytocannabinoids like CBD can help restore balance to the body.

When people talk about marijuana or use marijuana, they’re usually referring to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). What’s THC? It’s the part of the hemp plant (AKA the cannabis plant) that induces a euphoric state. Or an annoying state, mildly schizophrenic state, depending on your perspective. We can at least say beyond a shadow of a doubt that it makes Family Guy episodes way, way funnier.
The CBDistillery is another brand that cares deeply about their customers. And their concern shows in the CBD products they make. I tried the CBDistillery tinctures for anxiety with the same attitude I carry while using products from other brands – expectations set to a minimum. Thankfully, like many other brands I’ve reviewed here, this one did not disappoint as well.

As mentioned above, legal restrictions mean companies selling CBD oil are not allowed to make direct health claims about it. Having said this, scientific research indicates that CBD could be beneficial to people with epilepsy, while other research has investigated how CBD's properties could help acne, chronic pain, cancer, depression and anxiety. Celebrities in the US including Jennifer Aniston and Kristen Bell have both spoken publicly about taking CBD to help anxiety and stress.

In 2005, Jen started sharing homemade dog treat recipes online. Using content and SEO best practices she grew that site to 87,500 visitors/month. Today, she blogs and does other things with words for small to mid-size businesses in industries as varied as pets and wellness. When not working with her fabulous clients, she’s often found reading a novel, practicing her Down Dog or cooking up a delicious meal. You can find out more at jenphillipsapril.com

Cannabinoid therapy is connected to the part of the biological matrix where body and brain meet. Since CBD (cannabidiol) and other compounds in cannabis are so similar to the chemicals created by our own bodies, they are integrated better than many synthetic drugs. According to Bradley E. Alger, a leading scientist in the study of endocannabinoids with a PhD from Harvard in experimental psychology, “With complex actions in our immune system, nervous system, and virtually all of the body’s organs, the endocannabinoids are literally a bridge between body and mind. By understanding this system, we begin to see a mechanism that could connect brain activity and states of physical health and disease.”[175]

Francesca Fusco, MD, a dermatologist based in New York City, recently told Health that CBD oil is a rich source of fatty acids and other skin-healthy nutrients, and that it may improve hydration and minimize moisture loss. A few studies have also suggested that CBD oil may inhibit the growth of acne, although this hypothesis has only been tested in laboratory cell cultures—not in actual humans.
Sera Labs is suited for those who are trying out different CBD oils; it’s thoroughly tested and experimented, so it’s completely safe with minimal side effects. The product is effective and has a wide range of health benefits and calming effect especially after a long day. In total Sera Labs is a pure gem in the CBD products world, no other CBD oil was able to manage anxiety in our tests better than Sera Labs CBD.
I put two drops in my coffee (yes, I realize mixing hemp oil with caffeine is a bananas thing to do, but I need coffee and it is recommended on the website). The oil is much less unpleasant to take this way, although it does hugely change the taste of your coffee, so perhaps save it for your instant coffee, rather than your $5 slow-roasted French drip latte.
The fact that I didn’t have to wait weeks to see results. Fab CBD oil came into our life when both Rufus and I were going to a bad phase. He fell sick for God knows what reason and even after a lot of trips to the vet, we couldn’t find out the problem. I was incredibly stressed and was having random anxiety attacks, fearing that my fur buddy wouldn’t recover.
While these drugs can be effective for many patients, some don’t respond favorably. Certain patients don’t see much improvement, or they can’t tolerate the side effects. Moreover, tranquilizers like Valium and Xanax can be highly addictive. Clearly, alternative treatments are warranted. Could cannabidiol (CBD), the most prominent non-intoxicating constituent in cannabis, provide a viable alternative for currently available anxiety medications? Quite possibly!
Parkinson’s disease. Some early research shows that taking cannabidiol daily for 4 weeks improves psychotic symptoms in people with Parkinson’s disease and psychosis. But taking a specific cannabis extract (Cannador) that contains THC and cannabidiol does not appear to improve involuntary muscle movements caused by the anti-Parkinson’s drug levodopa in people with Parkinson’s disease.
– CBD Oil with THC; This kind of oil isn’t legitimate in all states and has an unexpected impact in comparison to unadulterated CBD oil. Numerous individuals take marijuana for THC, which aids them to fight distinctive restorative conditions. They trust that when the two are joined, they give a better experience that surpasses each other’s useful properties. Note that THC can counter the advantages of CBD and in this way, perfect dosing is fundamental.
I suffer fr migraines. Currently having Botox injections every three months for the last three years. This has helped went fr 24 to 30 migraines a month to 6 to 8 , now I'm back up to 14 to 20 a month. My doctor thought CBD oil might help. I have also started having anxiety attacks for a year now. I'm really confused with the dosages. Any thoughts would b helpful
More than 39 million Americans, aged 18 years or more, suffer from anxiety associated disorders. A variety of medications are available in the market for the treatment of these mental conditions. However, despite being effective in some anxiety sufferers, these drugs often do not elicit a favorable response in many generalized anxiety and health anxiety sufferers.
My name is Kathleen, I’m 66 years old, and I would like to share my amazing story with you how Dr. Christopher help me on how to go about with cannabis oil. On January 18, 2000, after a severe headache prompted a CAT scan, a 3cm tumor was discovered in the left frontal lobe of my brain. I was 38 years old. My two daughters were ages 15 and 12. Immediate brain surgery was recommended by my surgeon. However, after further discussion, due to slow growth and no adjacent edema, he felt it would not be negligent to postpone surgery and monitor the tumor every 3 months with an MRI. The tumor remained stable for a little over three years then suddenly grew 25%.

Are you willing to share what you're anxiety is about? I had panic and anxiety attacks for years and used Ativan and later Lorazepam for them, especially when I had to fly in planes. About 6 years ago I started taking Citalopram antidepressant, and all my anxiety/panic attacks went away. I only had it again recently during my withdrawal process. I know my relief from anxiety is from the Citalopram. I even did 7 zip lines in Costa Rica a little over a year ago. My flights there, to Panama and back were anxiety free. That has been so incredible for me! I love traveling now.
Scientists have made a lot of progress in understanding how CBD produces its calming, pain-reducing, anti-inflammatory effects in the body—and there’s still more to learn. We know that CBD interacts with many different receptors, proteins, and other chemicals in the brain. These interactions create changes in the activity of neurotransmitters, hormones, and other cells throughout the brain and body. Through these interactions, CBD appears to be able to affect many of the body’s functions, from sleep-wake cycles and emotional regulation to inflammation, pain perception, and seizures.
Several studies assessed CBD using contextual fear conditioning. Briefly, this paradigm involves pairing a neutral context, the conditioned stimulus (CS), with an aversive unconditioned stimulus (US), a mild foot shock. After repeated pairings, the subject learns that the CS predicts the US, and subsequent CS presentation elicits freezing and other physiological responses. Systemic administration of CBD prior to CS re-exposure reduced conditioned cardiovascular responses [63], an effect reproduced by microinjection of CBD into the BNST, and partially mediated by 5-HT1AR activation [79]. Similarly, CBD in the prelimbic cortex reduced conditioned freezing [70], an effect prevented by 5-HT1AR blockade [87]. By contrast, CBD microinjection in the infralimbic cortex enhanced conditioned freezing [70]. Finally, El Batsh et al. [80] reported that repeated CBD doses over 21 days, that is chronic as opposed to acute treatment, facilitated conditioned freezing. In this study, CBD was administered prior to conditioning rather than prior to re-exposure as in acute studies, thus further directly comparable studies are required.
@gailb, where did you purchase the CBD. I also have been curious about the product, but there are lots of sellers on Amazon, but I hate to purchase a supplement that I don't know anything about the seller. Most of them you can find some pretty good lists of sellers that have good reputations. If you could give a brand name that you used and liked, I would appreciate it. If that is something that needs to be a PM, that will be fine. Thank you, Gary
All this talk about THC lands us nicely in the whole “Full Spectrum vs. Pure Isolate” debate. Once you begin shopping for CBD products, you’ll notice a lot of jargon that gets thrown around without much explanation. Now that we’ve introduced THC into the conversation, we can talk about the difference between, and relative benefits of, Full Spectrum CBD and CBD Isolate (and the lesser-known contender: Broad Spectrum).

Research is beginning to show that CBD is different than other well-studied cannabinoids. All cannabinoids act as ligands, meaning they dock onto the binding site of a protein and have the ability to modulate a receptor’s behavior. CB1 receptors are widely distributed, but are particularly abundant in areas of the brain, including those concerned with movement, coordination, pain and sensory perception, emotion, memory, cognition, autonomic and endocrine functions. 1.)  A Qualitative Analysis of Online Forum Discussions on Cannabis Use and ADHD conducted by Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Duke University Medical Center: The results are as followed… “Twenty-five (25%) percent of individual posts indicated that cannabis is therapeutic for ADHD, as opposed to 8% that it is harmful, 5% that it is both therapeutic and harmful, and 2% that it has no effect on ADHD.”  This was the first type of study done of its kind.  View Source
I am a former family doctor and naturopathic physician as well as a medical editor and author, working mostly in academic research. In my practice I have always focused on natural medicine and helped my patients of all ages who haven’t responded to traditional treatments. I also have written a significant number of articles in botanical medicine, addiction, drugs. As of now I'm focused on cannabis researches, especially on cannabidiol, its health benefits and how it can improve life of people with severe diseases. You can read my articles here on CBDreamers
As mentioned previously, while CBD-dominant products help some people sleep, in others it promotes wakefulness. Orally administered THC, especially products from heavier “Kush” strains and Purple cannabis varieties, are very effective for sleep disorders. These tend to be high in myrcene and linalool, a terpene shared with lavender and known to be effective for relaxation. Cannabis combinations with ratios of 1:1, 4:1, or 24:1 CBD:THC can be used when patients want to reduce psychoactivity.
Cannabidiol is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as pentane. At room temperature, it is a colorless crystalline solid.[43] In strongly basic media and the presence of air, it is oxidized to a quinone.[44] Under acidic conditions it cyclizes to THC,[45] which also occurs during pyrolysis (smoking).[46] The synthesis of cannabidiol has been accomplished by several research groups.[47][48][49]
CBD is the major nonpsychoactive component of Cannabis sativa. According to a 2013 study published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, CBD benefits including acting in some experimental models as an anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, antioxidant, antiemetic, anxiolytic and antipsychotic agent, and is therefore a potential medicine for the treatment of neuroinflammation, epilepsy, oxidative injury, vomiting and nausea, anxiety and schizophrenia. The studies done on CBD oil have a pretty wide dose range (anywhere from a few milligrams to hundreds of milligrams). I suggest starting at the lower end (around 10 milligrams) and slowly increasing over a few weeks or months to see what works for you. Some people also do well with splitting the dosage throughout the day instead of taking the dose all at once. As with everything, it is always a good idea to talk with your prescribing doctor if you are on any medications. CBD is generally very safe, but there are some pharmaceutical medications CBD oil could potentially interact with and increase or decrease the pharmaceutical drugs' effectiveness.
